Performance Work

Selected performances by Sydney Cooper, exploring the relationship between material, light, and the act of making.

Light Field (2012) is a performance art piece by artist Sydney Cooper, presented as part of Pacific Standard Time: Art in the Parking Space at The Standard in Hollywood, CA.

Through a raking ceremony, Cooper reflects on the creative influences within her family — her father, artist Ron Cooper, whose practice engaged with light and reflective materials, and her Japanese great-grandfather, who worked as a gardener post World War II.
